Sizes 8–16 and 14w–24w are cut on different blocks: the plus sizes have a higher rise and a roomier leg opening (approx. 17 1/2" vs. 14 1/2"). If you're between a 16 and a 14w, the 14w offers a little more room through the hip and thigh.
A high rise that stays where you put it: the hidden elastic inner band moves with you so the back doesn't gap, and the double-button closure keeps the front neat under a tucked blouse. Through the hip the fit relaxes, and the thigh stays easy and straight.
